The Best Accessories for Bikes

“Why do you need special accessories for your scooter?”

Bike is like a mobile home for riders because it is always everywhere with you, all day and probably all night. Safety, Convenience, and Reliability need to be with you and your scooter as well. So the best accessories you need are:

Helmet

It’s basically necessary for a bike. It makes you safe from unexpected accident. In Thailand, It’s illegal to drive without helmet. Police will fine you 200 baht maximum each time you see police, that means after getting penalized and you are still not wearing helmet, you can be fined again and again. To get safer, choose your right helmet is important.

Remember! Expensive one doesn’t mean it’s safer, nor does a cheaper helmet mean it is unsafe.

There are 4 types of helmets which are

  1. Full face helmets
  2. Half Shell helmet
  3. Modular helmets
  4. Open Face helmet

Though, full face helmet is recommended as the most safety because impact area on helmet (when crashing) is always the chin, but it’s ok if you don’t like because a full face helmet is quite heavier than other types, so it may not be suited for woman who has a tiny head. When you first choose your helmet, take time as much as you want to make sure that helmet is right fit with your head and will not flip when riding through heavy wind by trying to nod your head up, down, left and right. Don’t forget to check its transparent screen whether it’s clear enough to ride in bad weather, by trying to walk everywhere you can and look through it.

Basket, Tank bag, Tail bag, Case

I mention 4 types of containers that can possibly use on your scooter. Each one has the same advantage, however, you should pick one that is proper to your bike and your style. These 4 containers are attached on different position on scooter.

Basket is attached in front of bike, it will not touch your leg or body. New design of basket is also have a locking system with a key. It can contain your helmet as well as shopping stuff.

Tank bag is a waterproof soft bag. It can be attached to scooter and can be separated when you use it as a normal bag and it is probable for a big bike which has a tank next to handlebar. It can also contain a helmet.

Tail bag and Case are quite similar in use. They are the container which are attached in the back or tail of motorbike. Case is a strong box but tail bag is a soft bag like Tank bag. Tail bag can be separated from bike but case is permanently attached. Most of riders use cases as helmet and tools keepers because they have a key and a locking system to keep stuff safe from any thieves. Moreover, tail bag and case can never annoy you and your passenger while riding and there is still enough space for 2 riders.

Universal Smartphone Holder

One of best accessories which can keep your smartphone in your sight while riding. It can be attached on handlebar. The holder looks like a bag which has the mounting system coming with a touch sensitive, transparent surface and a zip closure with waterproof flap that you can touch your smartphone easily even under the rain. There is an opening cavity at the bottom to allow the device power supply or earphones. It can make sure that you cannot get lost as GPS is on your sight all the time.
